Parc Natural de s'Albufera de Mallorca
Mallorca's wetland reserve behind Playa de Muro, where flamingos and avocets wade past wooden hides with slot windows. Rent a bike at the visitor centre for the long loop, download Merlin Bird ID, and come early before the reeds throw off their last shade.
Mallora’s take
Stop at the visitor centre first — they log your country of origin and hand you the printed guide in English or Spanish (no German printout). The long loop is 12.5 km plus another 2 km from the car park to the info centre, so rent a bike on-site if you want to do the full circuit; the shorter trails around the visitor centre work fine on foot. Hides are the real payoff — wooden huts with slot windows that open onto lagoons full of flamingos, terns, avocets, and herons. Download Merlin Bird ID before you go.
Good to know
Entry is free but you check in at the visitor centre. Gravel paths through tall reeds have zero shade — by May it's already noticeable. Parking at the entrance is easy off-season; in summer use the overflow on the main road.
