Museu Arqueològic de Son Fornés
The archaeology museum tucked inside a restored windmill on the edge of Montuïri — and the mill itself is half the visit. One focused hour with Iron Age Mallorca, weekday mornings only. Grab the English flyer at the door before the Catalan wall texts start staring back.
Mallora’s take
Housed in a restored windmill on the edge of Montuïri — the mill itself is half the visit, and worth the stop to see how these things actually worked. The collection is small but well-curated, focused on the Iron Age Son Fornés settlement and Roman-era Mallorca. Wall texts are Spanish and Catalan only; grab the English flyer or scan the QR code for translations before you start. Closed weekends and shuts at 2pm sharp.
Good to know
Open Monday to Friday, 10am–2pm only — closed Saturday and Sunday, which catches a lot of visitors out. Reception isn't always staffed; if no one's there, leave the entry fee on the desk.
