Ermita de Bonany

A hilltop sanctuary above Petra where the road switchbacks past cyclists grinding their way up. Come for the panorama: both bays on a clear day, with Randa and Sant Salvador rising on neighbouring hills. Quieter than Lluc, even on weekends.

Mallora’s take

Hilltop sanctuary above Petra reached by a winding switchback road — expect plenty of cyclists grinding their way up alongside you. The baroque church is worth a look, but the real reason to come is the 360° panorama: on a clear day you can spot both the Bay of Alcúdia and the Bay of Palma, plus the silhouettes of Randa and Sant Salvador on neighbouring hills. Far less visited than Lluc or Sant Salvador, so the atmosphere stays quiet even on weekends.

Good to know

There's a proper parking lot at the top, so you don't have to walk up. Almost no interpretive signage on-site — bring your own context if you want the history.
