Summum Boutique Hotel, member of Meliá Collection
A 16th-century palace tucked on a side street two minutes off La Rambla, where the night stays quiet and a glass of Cava waits at check-in. Book a rooftop plunge-pool slot when you arrive — they go fast, and the sundeck is the whole point.
Mallora’s take
Eighteen rooms inside the 16th-century Can Berga-Ladària palace, two minutes off La Rambla but on a side street that stays quiet after dark. The rooftop sundeck with the plunge pool is bookable in time slots — reserve at check-in, it fills up. Staff are the reason guests rebook; Diego, Lenart, Alicia and Bianca come up by name across reviews, and the welcome glass of Cava is standard. One consistent caveat: breakfast (paid, not included) is served in a windowless lower room and divides opinion — fine for most, a letdown for some at this price point.
Good to know
Street-facing rooms pick up noise despite the soundproofed windows — ask for one overlooking the interior atrium. Breakfast is charged separately and not at the standard you'd expect from the room rate; consider walking out for coffee and pastries instead. No on-site swimming pool beyond the small rooftop plunge — this is a city hotel, not a resort.
