Museum of Mallorca
Palma's history museum, tucked inside a 17th-century palace built over two Gothic predecessors. I come for the Talayotic bronzes and the small Miró room, then climb to the attic for a side-on view of the cathedral nobody tells you about.

Housed in the 1634 Casa de la Gran Cristiana, a palace built on top of two earlier Gothic buildings. Three floors covering Mallorcan history from prehistory through the 20th century — the Talayotic archaeology and the small Joan Miró room are the highlights, the medieval religious art section is skippable unless that's your thing. Climb to the attic for a side-on view of the cathedral. Labels are mostly in Spanish and Catalan; English is patchy.
Good to know
Free on Sundays and for seniors. Lockers on site for €1 to stash bags. There's a lift but only for staff use — main floors are reached by stairs.
