Petit Hotel Hostatgeria Sant Salvador
A former monastery on the summit of Puig de Sant Salvador, where the Felanitx plain unrolls below and the Tramuntana cuts the western horizon. Where I send friends who want their phone to stop working — rooms are spare on purpose, and the silence does the rest.
Mallora’s take
The whole point is the summit: 360° view over the Felanitx plain, the Tramuntana spine to the west, and the sea on clear days. Rooms are deliberately basic — no TV, almost no mobile signal, WiFi patchy — and that's why people come up here. The on-site restaurant and bar are the only food option, simple and reasonably priced; book dinner early or bring supplies, because going back down is seven kilometres of hairpins.
Good to know
The road up is narrow with continuous switchbacks and no street lighting — avoid arriving after dark, and not ideal for large rental cars. No public transport reaches the summit, a car is essential. Reception is self-service via an automated terminal; on-site staff during the day are restaurant and cleaning only.
